This Diwali make your home feel extra special. As many of us will be celebrating from home, there are unique ways to bring the festivities inside your rooms or into your garden.
On this blog post, I will give you tips on styling your dinning room for Diwali, top picks for Diwali and holiday decor that will instantly bring in that festive vibe. This year its okay to DIY decor as many vendors or boutiques aren't open or may be inundated with orders. Plus its always great to reuse or make new with your own hands.
Let's start first with the dining table.
Styling your dinning room for Diwali
Bring color back into you homes is the hallmark of this Diwali Tablescape. I drew inspiration by thinking back to the most memorable Diwali's I have had. Bright colors, candles, and an aroma of succulent flowers - a disarray of color that brought shock and excitement to my heart.

What to add to your table
Linens:
There is no better way to do linens then to give something old new life. On the Diwali Tablescape, I selected fushia and coral dupattas. The fushia dupatta is net with tie-dye design and gold phulkari work. The coral dupatta is georgette fabric with Gota- Patti work. I selected round metallic table mats to frame the plates and bring in the gold finish. For my napkins, I used an Indigo cotton fabric with a teal border.
First, start your table with a neutral linen. Then drape it with a dupatta (chunni or scarf) from your closet. In fact grab two. When selecting your dupatta look for a thick border with an intricate design. These will be perfect as your table runner and accent runner. If your dupatta has gold or silver work; select the same metallic finish for your table mats.
Re-purpose your beautiful bangles (bracelets) by using them as your napkin rings;. Here I have used a traditional Rajasthani bangle set that was gifted to me by my mom many years ago. I love this set because it has stones of every color which really ties the whole table together.

Serveware:
On the Diwali tablescape, I have incorporated the same neutral color of the tablecloth into the dinner and salad/appetizer plates. Adding these gorgeous Art Deco Gable Highball glasses with a gold rim really brings in the blue hue of the napkins and the gold accents on the dupattas and table mats. These one of a kind glasses do come in a pink finish as well. I also added an Art Deco Gable Highball cocktail mixing glass which can double as a water jug or champagne bottle holder!

Centerpiece:
At the center of Diwali is a concept of rebirth and a fresh start. This concept is often correlated to the Lily flower and why I chose it as the centerpiece of the Diwali tablescape. The Lily flower also symbolizes purity and are tied to good luck. What better way to celebrate this auspicious occasion that with a flower that holds so much meaning. The Lilly flowers are accompanied by pink Carnation flowers and Chrysanthemum. Eucalyptus leaves were also added into the arrangement to bring dimension and greenery. Orange and yellow faux flowers are used on the circumference of the vase to provide dimension and shape to the center of the table.

Accessories:
My favorite part of table designing is to bring in different elements onto the table that bring the theme and color palette to life. Here I chose small gold trinket pots with handles and put tealight candles in them. I also added an assortment of blue, orange and green hand painted diya. Last, I used green and jade taper candles to line the table. Using different gold taper candle holders creates a 3 dimensional feel to the table.
